What makes silicon solar irradiance sensors so exceptional?

Reliable insolation data are essential to evaluate a photovoltaic system’s true productivity. Only these can be used to calculate the performance ratio (PR), i.e. the ratio between the possible yield under standard test conditions and the actual yield achieved. That is why we at IMT Technology have been developing and manufacturing our high-grade Si sensors for more than 30 years.
These solar radiation sensors are exceptional in their precision and reliability. They offer an affordable yet robust solution to measure solar irradiance intensity, especially for monitoring photovoltaic (PV) systems. Since the sensor element design is similar to that of a PV module, these sensors are eminently suitable as a reference for PV system monitoring to determine insolation levels. In addition to numerous standard models, we also gladly supply customer-specific solutions on request. We will be happy to advise you.
IMT Technology is a world leader in reference cell precision for PV monitoring. Thanks to the continuous further development of our calibration systems and the constant improvement of sensor electronics, we are able to reduce our reference cells’ measurement uncertainty on an ongoing basis.
Our primary reference cells are calibrated by the German National Metrology Institute (PTB) on a regular basis.
