From spin-off to market leader
Founded in 1993 by Detlef Mencke and Dirk Tegtmeyer, two young researchers at the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH), IMT Technology is now the world market leader in reference cells for photovoltaics.
For many in the industry, our company, previously long known as the Ingenieurbüro Mencke & Tegtmeyer, is synonymous with utmost precision and maximum quality. We also achieved this thanks to our established partnerships with German suppliers and our local production operations.

Our story
Our home
Located in Hamelin, our company headquarters houses administration, development and production under a single roof. Acquired in 2011 and extended in 2023, the building also boasts 735 m2 of space dedicated to test benches and sun simulators, significantly enhancing the precision and longevity of our sensors.
Our partners
Our strong partner network allows us to meet customer preferences and foster innovation in the solar energy sector.
For example, we are continually undertaking joint research and development projects with the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH). In North America, we place our trust in our partner IMT Solar to handle sales of our products. Since Decades we are selling high-quality meteorological sensor from Thies Clima. We also enjoy long-standing cooperative partnerships with our suppliers across Germany.
